FAQs
There is no universally agreed upon definition of coaching. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as: “Partnering in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires a person to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

Feeling “stuck,” “overwhelmed,” or “stressed.”
Desire for personal development.
Looking to grow professionally.
Wanting to pursue a life-long dream.
Wanting to pursue career advancement.
Transitioning into a new stage of life.
Desiring to feel more confident.
Leaving behind emotional baggage.

The following difficulties, in my opinion, would be best discussed with your Primary Care Physician or other trusted Licensed Doctor and are not best helped by my coaching services:

  • sadness so tough that you struggle to do your normal routine such as go to work or get out of bed
  • so much stress or excitement that you go days without sleeping
  • loss of control where you’re not sure of the things you might have done
  • great difficulty thinking straight or speaking clearly
  • thoughts or actions of harming yourself or someone else
  • alcohol or drug addiction

If at any time you feel unsafe, please always call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

I hold a Doctorate degree in clinical psychology; however, since I prefer providing coaching services, I no longer carry a psychology license.  As such, I do not diagnose or treat Mental Disorders (DSM-5 “Depression,” “Bipolar,” “PTSD,” “AD/HD,” etc.).

The first phone call is free and generally lasts 15-20 minutes. It is all about gaining some initial clarity. I will invite you to briefly tell me about yourself, what is going on in your life, and your goals. I will then offer an initial conceptualization of if and how I might be helpful. I will of course answer whatever questions you might have. Importantly, this conversation is also a chance for you to get a better sense of me and my style! If it looks like we might be a good match for each other, we can schedule a full first session (or jump into a package plan).

The number of coaching sessions that you might have with me is entirely up to you.

Some people prefer 1-3, others invest significant time.  Consider someone who approaches an artist for painting lessons or a golf pro for help with their swing.  It depends upon where you are starting from, how expert you want to become, and what you are willing to work for.

Unlike these traditional coaches, I may not have subject matter expertise on a particular problem (you should see your financial advisor for financial questions),  but I am expert on helping you unlock your potential to thrive.

I am local to the greater Doylestown PA area.  I do frequently meet clients for in person meetings, but most of my clients prefer the ease and comfort of video calls (Zoom).  This means I am located wherever you are!
